489 Years is transcribed according to the testimony of a former soldier in South Korea, Kim.
It gives us access to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea and makes us immerse in the heart of the personal memory of a soldier. He tells us about his experience in a research mission and the amazing discovery he made in the field full of mines (mines laid by South Korea with no record of where they were placed). He speaks of a place where people are forbidden, a place where nature has totally reclaimed its hold.

Video mākslas darbs 489 gadi ir veidots, balstoties uz agrākā Dienvidkorejas karavīra, Kima, liecībām. Mākslas darbā Korejas demilitarizētā zona (DMZ) starp Ziemeļkoreju un Dienvidkoreju tiek atklāta ar karavīra acīm, iegremdējoties viņa personiskajās atmiņās. Karavīrs stāsta par viņa pieredzi izlūkošanas misijā un viņa neticamajiem atklājumiem laukā, kas ir pilns ar mīnām (mīnas, kuras izvietoja Dienvidkoreja un kuru atrašanās vietas nav zināmas). Viņš stāsta par vietu, kur cilvēkiem atrasties ir aizliegts, vietu, kur daba ir atguvusi savu varu.
